Archetype Electrical Services was founded by Joel Holliman who has worked in the electrical industry for nearly twenty-five years. Since receiving his Washington State Journeyman's license in the early nineties, he's played a leading role in the electrical construction of dozens of notable residential and commercial projects. Over the years he's served as a field foreman, project manager, estimator and systems designer. In 2003 he earned his Washington State Master Electrician's license.
He began working as an electrician in the mid eighties while studying electrical engineering at Orange Coast College. He soon realized that working "hands on" in the construction industry as an electrician held more appeal for him than working behind the scenes as an electrical engineer.
"I like to be a part of the creative process. There's a great feeling that comes from creating something of value with your own hands." Joel has studied the various aspects of the trade at Renton Technical College and Construction Industry Training Counsel. Along with studying the National Electrical Code, electrical theory and motor controls; he also sought out training in project management, business communications, and construction safety.

"Over the past twenty years, I've had the privilege of working for two of the best electrical contractors in the Seattle area: Talis Inc. and Paragon International. Both companies had an inspiring culture of discipline and a strong desire to achieve excellence. I learned a lot from working in those environments where nearly everyone was striving to be the best they could be. Shortly after Paragon closed its doors in 2009, I started Archetype Electrical Services. I knew from the beginning that we at Archetype had to commit ourselves to that same pursuit of excellence."
